Frequently asked questions about anniversary and wedding gifts

Is a chess set a good anniversary gift?

Yes, a chess set is an anniversary gift that a couple uses together: every game needs two players and gives you time together. Engraved with both partners' names or the date of the anniversary, the chess set becomes a personal keepsake.

What do you engrave on a chess set for an anniversary or a wedding?

A popular choice is both first names with the wedding date, for example “Anna & Max · 12.06.2027”, or a short line such as “A team since 2016”. The engraving holds up to 30 characters including spaces and is included in the price of every engravable chess set. More wording ideas can be found in our engraving ideas.

What is a good gift for a wood anniversary?

For the wood anniversary, the 5th wedding anniversary, a gift made of wood is traditional. A handcrafted wooden chess set engraved with the wedding date follows this tradition – matching models are collected under Wood Anniversary Gifts.

Can I return an engraved chess set?

Engraved chess sets are made to order and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal. Statutory warranty rights for defects or transport damage still apply. Please check names and dates before placing your order.
