Returns and Refunds (Return & Refund Policy)

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Schachatelier Berlin. That's why we offer a voluntary 30-day return policy for non-personalized items.

Conditions for returns

To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition you received it: unused, undamaged, in its original condition, and in its original packaging. You will also need proof of purchase (order number or invoice).

How to start a return

To request a return, please contact us in advance at info@schachatelier.de.

Please note that returns must be registered with us in advance. After review, we will provide you with the exact return address for your product. Items sent back to us without prior contact cannot unfortunately be accepted.

Transport damage and issues

Please check your order immediately upon receipt. If a chess set arrives defective or damaged, or if you received the wrong item, please contact us immediately at info@schachatelier.de so we can review and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Exceptions / items excluded from the right of return

Certain items are entirely excluded from the right of return:

• Personalized goods: Chess sets or accessories made with a custom name or text engraving to the customer's specifications cannot be returned or exchanged.

• Gift cards and promotional/sale items.

Exchanges

The fastest way to get the product you want is to return your current item (if non-personalized). Once your return is approved, you can simply order the new chess set as a separate purchase through our online shop.

Refunds

We will notify you once we have received and inspected your return. If the refund is approved, the amount will automatically be refunded to your original payment method (e.g., credit card, PayPal, or Klarna) within 10 business days. Please note that depending on your bank or card issuer, it may take a few additional days for the refund to appear in your account.
